Learning how to apply lipstick

Have you ever thought about kissing that guy you have a crush on, but had second thoughts after thinking about how your lips look? Trust me, that guy doesn’t want to kiss dry lips. He wants to kiss soft, kissable lips; lips that will take him to heavenly bliss. I learned this the hard way, but that’s a story for another day. You don’t have to go overboard buying expensive lipsticks or lip bums. If you have the money why not, but even if you don’t, there are easy ways to make your lips look scrumptious!

Lipstick makes your lips look sexy, bigger and bolder. Do you love bold colors and are you wondering how to rock them? I will show you how to wear these colors despite the choice of color. Most people think applying lipstick is hard, and it’s the preserve of bold personalities. I believe anyone can apply lipstick with confidence. I will show you how to do it, make it last all day, and stay fabulous. I use these tips every day and it works well for me.

Let’s get to it

First, check your complexion. Check what color suits your skin tone to make sure you get the best results. If you are dark, it’s advisable you use a bold color; to give you the right contrast. If you are pale skinned, I would advise you to go for neutral colors and light pinks. They will give you an outstanding look. For medium complexion, cinnamon and plum are the best. If you want to know your best color, test, test, test. You might want to hear for a second opinion from a friend.
Here’s how to go about it:

  • If you apply lipstick on flaky and dry lips, it will look rough, so exfoliate your lips to make them soft. Use your toothbrush to brush your lips gently in order to remove the dry skin. You can also make a paste composed of sugar and water. It works well too.
  • Using lip liner, outline your lips. Start from the outside of your lips to the center. This will define your lips remarkably. Your lip liner should be of similar color to your lipstick. Fill your lips completely; your lipstick will last longer.
  • Apply petroleum jelly to keep your lips moisturized. It will come under your lipstick. Make sure you don’t apply too much because it will be challenging to get the right amount of lipstick on your lips if it’s too much. Choose a petroleum jelly with skin care to get the best results.

  • You can now start applying lipstick making sure you stay in the confines of the lines on your lips. Do it from the center and wipe off the excess with tissue. Check yourself in the mirror to see if you are doing it the right.

  • You can also add more lipstick if you so desire, but not too much because when the lipstick becomes greasy, it will rub off on anything, thus fading away very fast. What this means is that you will look a lot different in the evening than you were looking in the morning.

  • Using either tissue, a piece of paper or cloth, blot your lips. Open your lips and place them on the piece of tissue, paper or cloth gently, as if you are biting on the cloth with your lips. This will help you take up the excess lipstick. The good thing about doing this is that your lipstick will last longer in the day.

And you are done! I am sure you will notice some change after trying these tips.
