How to apply foundation
like a pro
Do you desire to see
your skin look AMAZING? Wear foundation. Choose the right foundation for your
skin; it will make your skin look flawless. You have to apply foundation the
right way; otherwise, all that effort will be counterproductive.
Don’t plaster your
whole face with foundation; you will end up with an unnatural look. I will show
you the tricks you should use to apply foundation; step by step. When applying
foundation, concentrate on the center of your face and on your hairline; it
should be thinnest on both of these areas.
You will need:
- Foundation brush
- Your favorite foundation
- Translucent powder
First, wash your hands
and face. You don’t want a situation where you touch your face with dirty hands
because they will cause pimples and blemishes.
Finding the perfect color
for your skin
Test on your jawline and check whether the foundation goes well with your skin. Make sure there is enough light to help you see clearly. How do you know you are making the right choice? If the color disappears without mixing.
If you can’t find that
specific color for your skin, you can consult a beauty adviser on how to go
about it.
Foundation comes in
different types. These include; compact powder, loose powder, liquids,
aerosols, and creams. The difference between these forms of foundation is the
application. Try on different versions and choose the one that makes you feel
more comfortable and the one that will give you a natural look.
You can apply using a
brush, your fingers or a sponge. All of these tools have their benefits. Your
fingers will help you blend the foundation easily on your skin. Using a brush
will help you keep your skin free from bacteria and blemishes.
Apply the moisturizer
or primer suited for your skin tone. Wait for about five minutes before
applying foundation. Primer decreases the chances of getting pores on your
skin.
Cover any redness or
spots with a concealer. Also, avoid smearing too much foundation on your face.
If your eyes are looking less bright, apply concealer beneath your eyes. Pat
the concealer so that it mixes well with the foundation. Don’t rub; it will damage your
skin, you will end up rubbing away the concealer that you’ve already applied.
Start applying
foundation, around the areas of your face that need to be even e.g. your nose,
your cheeks, forehead, and chin. Don’t allow your foundation to be too thick;
spread it out. Just use a little. The idea is to have a natural look. Blend
well, pay attention to your jawline and hairline. Check for areas where the
blending was not effective and also those that have spots. Repeat the blending
once again.
Sometimes your skin
changes color depending on the season, so you will need different shades of foundation for
whenever your skin color changes.
Use translucent powder
to powder your face lightly; it will give you a matte look. Matte powder
prevents oil building up during hot weather. You are allowed to skip
this step if you are going for the natural look. Apply some makeup; such as
lipstick, mascara, and eyeliner.
You can now go the world with implausible
confidence!
