Eye makeup using eye shadow

Your eye makeup can enhance how natural and edgy you look. I will teach you how to pull an everyday look that you can be comfortable with at the office. Appropriate application of eye makeup is an easy skill which will help you astound your peers, and help you feel and look your best.

There are different styles of wearing eye makeup, these are: cat eyes, eye makeup (eye shadow), Smokey eyes, so thick, open wings, creative wings and single lines. But today, I will be showing you how to do your eye makeup using eye shadow.

For this look, you will need:

  • Cleanser

  • Concealer

  • Brush

  • Eye shadow

  • Eyeliner

  • Eyelash curler

Mascara

Wash your face, and remove all makeup on your face, and your eyes using cleanser. If you are having problems in removing the leftover make up, you can use lotion on a cotton swab. If your skin is dry around the areas of your eyes, apply some moisturizer underneath your eyes and the outer corners of the eyes.

Note: Don’t apply moisturizer on the eyelids. This will make your eyelids greasy and in the end, your eye makeup will not last long. Apply some primer on your eyelids up to the brow bone; it soothes the skin.

Apply concealer to the areas of your eyes that have dark circles. Start from your inner eyes going to the nose. Use your fingers or brush to blend the makeup outwards. Brush the loose translucent powder remaining, and apply powder on your eyelids as well.

You can now start applying your eye shadow. You can use one color or better still just neutral colors. They are best for meetings, the office look, and for those just starting out learning how to do makeup. The eyelid is the part running from your crease to your eyelashes.

Apply light brown on the brow bone. Highlight the brow bone and continue blending in the color with the eye shadow brush.

You can now apply a dark color on the crease area. Use light strokes to deposit dark powder on your crease. Add more light brown to emphasize on the blending. This shade is great for the office.

Apply your eyeliner. You can use pencil eyeliner or liquid eyeliner. Whatever choice you make, move it across your upper lash making tiny lines and being careful with the eye shadow; sort of like drawing dotted lines. Go back and draw the lines slowly and carefully filling in the blank spaces. To achieve an edgier look, you can make lines on your lower lashes too.

Using an eyelash curler, curl your eyelashes. Eyelash curler grips your upper eyelashes. Do this for 10 seconds. Always curl your eyelashes before applying mascara or otherwise, you might end up prodding your eyeballs. The eyelash curler also helps your eyelashes appear longer.

Apply mascara. There are many brands of mascara both in length and definition; choose the brand that you are comfortable and happy with. Apply mascara from the upper eyelashes and finish with the lower eyelashes. If you want to apply eye shadow for special occasions, follow the same procedure but use a different shade; color with glitters, rainbow colors and one bright color.

There you have it! Try it and see the results!
