How to do waxing at home, FAST AND EASY

Prevent it before it happens
Do you get those moments you are out and about then you suddenly notice you are as hairy as a spider or a cow?
Hey, who said that?!

Then, you shrivel and hope no one noticed your hairy legs. Well, you don’t want that, trust me. I have been there. This is what you need to know.

Waxing is one method of hair-removal. There are many others. Waxing is termed as the best method because you won’t have to shave for another month, your skin will be much healthier, and you will look silky smooth. When you go for your first, you might scream your lungs out!

With time, you will get used to waxing and it will be less painful. Waxing every week can be expensive; that is if you regularly go to a professional! Have you ever thought of saving up those dollars and doing it at home? Listen here.

It's time you know the secrets of how to do waxing at home. For this, you will need wax paste. I will give you tips on how to make a simple wax paste.

Here’s the procedure on how to make a simple waxing recipe

You will need:
250ml of granulated sugar
Half cup of fresh lemon juice
One cup of honey

Now, let’s make the paste

  • Use a light-not too heavy pan to melt the granulated sugar. Use medium heat and don’t stir, wait until the sugar starts to form a brown color. It smells good, doesn’t it!

  • Now, to the brown sugar add your lemon juice and honey. Stir the mixture till it melts and acquires a consistent texture. If the mixture comes out too thick, just add some water until you get the texture that you want.

  • Wait for the mixture to cool, because it's only then that you can start using it.

Waxing (hair- removal)

  • Make sure your hair is between 3mm and 6mm long. If the hair is too short for waxing, the wax won’t pull out the hair from the roots. Again, if the hair is too long, it could be painful and uncomfortable.

  • Make strips using a piece of cloth.

  • Dust your skin with baby powder on the area you want to remove the hair. Baby powder absorbs moisture and natural oils produced by the skin. Baby powder also allows the paste you made to stick to your skin. This process will make it less painful.

  • Apply your wax (paste). Spread your wax using a spatula, where you want to remove the hair. Apply the wax guided by the area your hair is growing. You don’t have to apply copious amounts. Apply just enough.

  • Press the piece of cloth on your skin on the area where the hair is growing or where you have applied your paste.

  • Leave the wax to cool completely. Pull the cloth lightly and gradually to see if it’s sticking to your skin. If it is, brace yourself!

  • Pull out the cloth and do it quickly! Don’t pull the cloth at 90 degrees but instead, at a lower angle.

Valuable tips
When waxing your face, apply cooling gel to reduce redness. You can plan to wax your face when you are indoors. You don’t want to wax your face and go out looking like you have been slapped with a belt. Ouch!

If there is some residue left on your skin, rinse with warm water. If this procedure does not work, put some baking soda in some warm water and rinse your skin.

If the mixture becomes hard before applying it, heat it again until it melts.

Before waxing, exfoliate your skin two days before.

Don’t heat the residue using your microwave. Microwave heat is uneven. You could also end up applying scorching wax on your skin.

Be very careful when applying the wax. Check the temperature of the mixture before applying it to your skin. Don’t remove it from the pan and put it directly on your skin.

If there is some paste or wax is left, you can store it in the refrigerator because it will come in handy the next time you want to wax.

I hope you find these tips useful!
